In-house emergency and first aid
Every employer is required to have an effective in-house emergency and first aid service within his organisation.
The law does not prescribe exactly how in-house emergency and first aid should be organised, but, at a minimum, you need to take into account the size of your company and the potential risks.
The number of in-house emergency and first aid officers within a company is not specified by law. DVTadvies recommends carrying out a Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E) to determine how many people should be trained for this. This enables your organisation to take into account risks and the number of persons present in the building.
The government will soon be implementing a legal change: in-house emergency and first aid is to become basic emergency and first aid. Volunteer organisations, small events and clubhouses for sports clubs will also soon have to offer basic emergency and first aid services.
DVTadvies offers custom emergency and first aid training with its own professional trainers. This includes a Basic Emergency and First Aid course and Repeat Emergency and First Aid courses, as well as specific courses for Fire Alarm System Management, evacuation drills and tabletop drills. Our Basic Emergency and First Aid training is a two-day course. The annual repeat courses involve one-day sessions.
We also offer services in the following areas:
- Fire and safety advice
- Emergency response officers
- Fire drills
- Safety signs
- Evacuation plan samples
- Risk assessment samples
- Workplace fire safety
